LMD - a change agency, is a woman-owned small business seeking an experienced Creative Video Director, Video to join our fast-paced, award-winning, full-service marketing & communications team. The Creative Video Director is a strategic leader responsible for driving the creative vision, production, and execution of all video content across the organization with a strong emphasis on recruitment. This role oversees the full video lifecycle—from ideation and storyboarding to post-production and distribution—ensuring that video output aligns with brand, marketing, and business goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong creative background and proven experience managing teams and projects in fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creative Direction
    • Lead creative concept development for all video work, including client campaigns, commercials, social media, internal communications, and more.
    • Lead creative concept conversations and strategies with the client(s).
    • Lead development of scriptwriting, storyboarding, shot list creation, and post-production work.
    •  Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, content, research, strategy, and leadership teams.
    • Help manage and mentor the in-house video team, including producers, editors, and motion designers.
    • Provide critical and constructive feedback on rough cuts, edits, and voice-overs.
    • Oversee vendor, freelance, and partner relationships as identified by LMD’s Producer.
  • Video Strategy & Vision
    • Develop and lead the organization’s video content strategy across all platforms for key client(s).
    • Define and uphold video storytelling standards and brand voice.
  • Production and Post-production Oversight
    • Alongside the Producer, manage the end-to-end video production process, including scripting, creative production, scheduling, 508 compliance, budgeting, filming, editing, and delivery.
    • Ensure timely delivery of high-quality video content.
  • Content Optimization
    • Stay current with video trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies.
  • Business Development (BD)
    • Attend and participate in all BD meetings and activities related to your client(s).
    • Play a pivotal role in BD by blending creative leadership with strategic thinking and client relationship-building.
    • Identify new video opportunities within ongoing projects or accounts. Propose value-added services like campaign extensions, behind-the-scenes content, or social cutdowns.
    • Position video as a solution to broader brand, marketing, or communications challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Must be in the DMV and attend weekly meetings in LMD’s corporate office in Columbia, Maryland.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • 7+ years of experience in video production.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating creative direction, storytelling, and production expertise.
  • Deep understanding of video platforms and how to optimize for each.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale productions and budgets.
  • Proficiency in video shooting and pre- and post-production tools.
  • Strong creative skills and the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Law Enforcement and recruitment experience are a plus.

Job Location(s): 
This position is a hybrid position with required in-person meetings at LMD headquarters in Columbia, Maryland and onsite shooting locations.

Salary Range:
$85,000 - $100,000
